Ruffles and Lace

Another day, another outfit! I have been looking for the right top to pair with my ruffled lace skirt from Abercrombie & Fitch for a long time, and during my trip to Chicago with the family, I stumbled upon this top from H&M. I'll admit that it's not the most exciting purchase i've made, but I really love finding great basics that I can add to my closet. After all, the key to loving your wardrobe is building up a collection of basics that can be incorporated into plenty of outfits! After that, you get to focus on adding the little details to complete your look! :)

I love this outfit because it's got plenty of classic details - like lace and pearls - so it's great for so many occasions! I really enjoyed rocking this outfit during a lunch date at Panera with some family members, and a shopping day with my wonderful momma!

I recently got these sandals at Target recently, and I love them! They're great with so many things, and they're really comfortable. My mom and I actually bought matching pairs (mine in cream and gold, and hers in navy), and I can't wait to style them with more!

Seersucker for Saturdays

Nothing is worse than knowing that you're falling behind - especially on your blog! ;) Things this week have been really busy, with Father's Day on Sunday, and me officially starting my photography job this week, but I wanted to share with you all an outfit of the day that I actually used last Saturday during a daytrip to Chicago with the family!

This has proven to be the perfect outfit for running errands, as well as for a day out with friends or family. Because of the light colors in my outfit, I chose to keep my jewelry simple, sticking to my favorite pair or gold and pearl Kate Spade Earrings, a pearl necklace, my nautical bracelet, and of course, the ring that was a graduation gift from my parents. I also decided on my coral Coach purse that just so happens to match perfectly to the tiny stitched lobsters on my shorts!

Sometimes, keeping things simple and styling yourself in calm colors is exactly what a girl needs!

I absolutely love the little lobsters stitched onto these shorts! They're perfect for any girl who's as in love with coastal style as I am! (I apologize for the wrinkles.. I chose to wait until the end of the day to actually take some pictures for the blog!)

Shorts: J Crew | Button-Down: Abercrombie & Fitch | Sandals: Target | Purse: Coach | Necklace: Forever 21 | Bracelet: N/A

This was one of the only pictures we took last Saturday, and it totally makes me laugh! I love my brother to pieces! :) Hope you all had as fun of a weekend as I did!

Summertime Plaid

I absolutely love these Sperrys! I originally purchased these at Macy's for around $89 (which was a bit of a splurge for me) with intentions of wearing them to work, since we have to wear close-toed shoes, but they're so glittery and comfortable that I find myself wearing them a lot more than I originally planned. This picture doesn't really do them justice!

Dorm Bedding Decisions

So the time has come for me to finally start thinking about getting my last-minute college details in order, and of course I chose to begin with my dorm room details! I've already been working on picking up a few things here and there whenever an opportunity arises, but overall, all i've really gotten together are a few bright and bold picture frames in varying colors, a coral-colored storage bin, and some random decorations. And after looking over what i've collected so far, I came to the decision that it was time to get serious and make a decision on my bedding!

I've been doing some researching, and my main goal is to find something that will hold up well, while also not breaking the bank, which is much tougher than it may seem!! And after doing a bit of researching, I found that Pottery Barn Teen seemed like the only provider whose products are well-made, but also very cute (I mean, I do have to live with this stuff for a year or more)! And while PBTeen may be on the pricier end, they offer 10% off with any valid student ID (YAY!).

Here are the two that I believe are my favorite options so far:

This multicolor chevron duvet cover and matching sham are definitely my top choice right now! Not only am I obsessed with chevron, but this bedding includes enough colors to brighten up a drab dorm room any day of the week! Also, I'm finding that it will most likely match all of the other things i've collected for my dorm, so this could be a really valuable piece that could link the whole room together. The duvet cover is currently selling for $69.99!

My second favorite option is this hot pink polka dot duvet cover, also listed for $69.99. I like that it's a little more preppy than the first one, and it might stay a little cleaner in the long run than the first.

And yes, I know this isn't necessarily bedding... But when I stumbled across these monogram pillow covers, I knew I'd need something like this for my future dorm room! I'm definitely admiring the coral one in the upper left hand corner :) which is your favorite?? :)

Let me know which duvet you like better, I need all the help in decision-making that I can get!

Curious what's on my agenda for the fall semester?
First Year Seminar (required)
Beginning Ballet I
Nature of Math I
Wellness
Intro to Psychology
Intro to Academic Writing
Intermediate Spanish Composition
I'm really excited for a few of these because they're brand new to me! Im already on my way to earning my double major in Elementary Education and Spanish!! :) I can't wait!

Bling and Summertime Brights

I'm absolutely in love with these t-strap sandals from Nine West! I stumbled across these at their store in downtown Lake Geneva, and got them for a steal! (I believe I purchased them for around $20?) Anyways, I've been wanting a pair of studded shoes for a long time, but hadn't found the right pair for my style until now!

By the way, can you spot the reoccuring item that may or may not have also been featured in the graduation wish-list post?? ;) They're currently one of the favorite accessories, and the perfect pick-me-up to any outfit!

Chevron at the Lake

With summer finally here, my mom and I decided to take a day together and head up to Lake Geneva to really enjoy our day to the fullest! We started our day right with some Mocha Frappe's from McDonald's, and then hit up the downtown shopping district before enjoyed the summer breeze by the boat docks. Honestly, I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day to kick start my summer! And, me being me, I couldn't pass up an opportunity to bring out one of my favorite summer dresses for the occasion..

The Grand Finale: Graduation!

One of the many reasons why I love my friends...

Due to the fact that I planned my party on the night of graduation, things got pretty hectic, and although things went fairly smoothly, we neglected to get many pictures.. So this is the best I can do with the "What I Wore" picture.. Notice my mother's wonderful job with the decorations (Thank you, Pinterest!). The only real down-side to my day was that the weather wasn't very cooperative, hence the sweater! But overall it was a fabulous night spent with some of my favorite people who helped me to kick off the beginning of a brand new chapter!

Spotlight: Kiel James Patrick Bracelets

In order to start of my first official "fashion" post the right way, I wanted to introduce one of my absolute favorite accessories of all time, made by the one and only Kiel James Patrick! If you're as obsessed as I am with east coast style, then you'd probably be interested to learn about these wonderful accessories.

Although he is famous for a wide variety of items, KJP offers multitudes of bracelet styles for men and women that seriously can't be beat. All I have to say: prepare to fall in love.

It's pretty easy to see that there's a bracelet for every personality on the planet. There are tons of styles and colors, and there are always brand new designs! Also KJP has partnerships with both Brooks Brothers as well as Lilly Pulitzer, as if they couldn't get any more perfect!

If you're intrigued or want to see more, go to www.kieljamespatrick.com to purchase or just explore! Also, I'd highly recommend following Kiel on Instagram @KJP.
Thanks so much for reading, and have a wonderful day!

Springtime Haul: J Crew Factory.

Hey everyone!
Well, after lunch and a walk with the boyfriend, the rain finally arrived and chased me inside. So i've decided to do a little blogging to chase away the monotony of this rainy day..
As my family and I were shopping around last week, we came across a J Crew Factory store that was having a 50% off sale, and obviously we couldn't pass up the opportunity to do some serious damage (; So, I'd like to share with you and recommend these staple pieces for spring and summer from the one and only J Crew!

The classic suckered gingham button-down in "bright hydrangea". The wonderful thing about this top, as well as the one shown below, is that the fit is great, they're very light (perfect for springtime weather), and they run long, so they're perfect for tucking into a skirt or pair of shorts, and there are no ugly tank tops peeking out from the bottom.

The cotton voile camp shirt in "seashore green"

The 3" embroidered seersucker chino shorts in "spearmint" (Check out the lobster details, they were so preppy that I couldn't resist!)

The 3" printed chino shorts in "neon peach"

I couldn't find the exact picture, but I bought these exact shorts, except in the 3" rather than the 5". They're the classic patchwork shorts in "summer plaid". These shorts were paired with the mint button down shown above, along with gold boat shoes!

The double-serge cotton mini in "cafe mint". I paired this skirt with the blue gingham button down shown above!

The printed cotton sateen mini in "navy white". I love the anchor detailing on this skirt :) So far, I've worn it with a chambray button down, and gold accessories.

The linen cotton a-line skirt in neon pink! This is the perfect high waisted skirt for spring and summer, and looks great paired with a tshirt, button down, or cardigan! I can't wait to try some color blocking with this skirt as well! :)

My new iPhone 4 case! I thought the colors were perfect for spring, and it was a much needed change from my old case.

And finally, the J Crew giraffe necklace in gold. I really love this piece because it's a great way to add something interesting to your outfit while still remaining really classic. And who doesn't love giraffes anyways?

I'd recommend all of these items, and even though they're from the J Crew Factory store rather than the main J Crew stores, the quality of these clothing and accessory items still maintain the J Crew image!

Hope you've all had a wonderful day despite this rain, I know I have! :)

A Little Browsing: Graduation Gift Ideas!

Well, graduation is just around the corner, and that means that the badgering by my parents to supply them with gift ideas has begun! (love you both!) So, I've decided to share a few of my current top picks with you all, in case you ever need a great gift idea:

The "Hooked on You" bracelet in Tango Orange, by Lilly Pulitzer.

Kate Spade's Scalloped ring in white and gold.

Skinny mini pearl drop earrings, by Kate Spade. These are definitely my first choice!

These are wonderful accessories for any occasion, and can be given as gifts for graduation, birthdays, and christmas! I'm definitely leaning towards the earrings, what do you think?

A Fresh Beginning.

Well, this is it! A new blog, a new plan, a brand new start. And to be honest, I couldn't be more thrilled..

Less than a week from today, I will be attending my last day of high school. Looking back on these past few years, I now see that high school has been fairly good to me, considering. I've started to grow into the girl that i've always wanted to be, and now have a defined sense of style and even more importantly, I know who I am. I've overcome obstacles, stepped outside of my comfort zones, and i've felt the rewards that accompany risk. I even found my first love, with whom i'm proud to say i've shared four years of my life, and who still holds my heart today.

And despite the great memories, I already have my eyes set on the road ahead. I finally have found my first summer job, and i'll be working as a photographer - I don't think it could get much more perfect than that! And I have my college, and a great scholarship to accompany it. I look forward to every step I take towards earning my major in Elementary Education as well as Spanish, and I can't wait to see what doors open up for me in my future.

And, most importantly, I can't wait to share every moment with you! This is the place where I have the privelage to share everything, from "what I wore" to great new discoveries, to posts about the every day things. All in all, I can't wait to see what unfolds here, and I hope you'll stick around to see.
